I have not seen/used the 991EX w/ the improved screen, but I had the 991ES. The Casio is a good calculator, but I somewhat prefer the TI-36X Pro. The biggest single difference is that the TI will remember what is on the stack when calculator is powered off, and makes it easy to use previous expressions/results in a current expression (e.g. I can use the answer from 'above' in an existing expression). I use a 991EX and think it's great. That said, i've never used the 36X pro. The 991EX works like any other casio, same button layout, mostly the same menus, so it should be a no brainer if you've been happy with the 991ES or similar until this point.
